Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the things people ask first.
What's the difference between a Spark and a Reminder?
A Spark is an idea or a quick capture with no particular time — raw material. A Reminder has a time and is meant to come back to you. You can promote a Spark into a Reminder (or a Task) whenever you're ready.
Do I have to choose the type when I capture?
No. Emberel's classifier picks the kind for you and pulls out any dates. You only step in if it got something wrong — and re-filing is one tap.
How does text capture work?
You send a normal SMS to your Emberel number. It arrives in your account, classified, within seconds. Reminders can come back to you the same way.
Is my data private?
Emberel runs as a private instance — access is gated by Google sign-in or a passcode, and sessions expire. Your captures are yours; the AI answers questions grounded only in your own items.
Does it work with my calendar?
Yes — two-way sync with Google Calendar and Google Tasks. See Integrations.
What can I capture with?
Typing in the app, SMS, email, voice notes, and photos. Whatever's fastest in the moment.
Where do I sign in?
At app.emberel.com.
